Build a single dual or dual tournament
Use a dual bracket for team-versus-team competition where each weight class is an individual bout and those bout results contribute to a team score.
Before building
Section titled “Before building”Confirm that:
- The event structure includes Team duals.
- Every participating team has been added to the event.
- The event roster contains the eligible wrestlers for those teams.
- The division has match settings.
- You know the ordered list of weight classes for the duals.
Dual lineup weights are stored on each dual bracket. They do not come from the Individual event’s starting division setup.
Choose a single dual or dual tournament
Section titled “Choose a single dual or dual tournament”Open Brackets, select the division, and choose Add Brackets.
- Choose Single Dual for one team-versus-team meet.
- Choose a dual tournament format when several teams advance or wrestle a round robin. The picker includes supported round-robin and elimination sizes and placement variants.
The format determines the team slots and the parent tournament matches. Each parent matchup builds a dual beneath it, and each dual builds one individual bout per configured weight class.
Choose the smallest format that fits the confirmed teams. Empty team slots can create byes, but a larger format also creates more structure to review and schedule.
Select the teams
Section titled “Select the teams”Open Edit mode on the new bracket and choose Choose Teams. For a Single Dual, fill the two team slots. For a larger dual tournament, fill its available team slots and review their order before building. Empty slots produce byes, so confirm the intended teams before continuing.
Configure weight classes and bout order
Section titled “Configure weight classes and bout order”Open the bracket settings and review Weight Classes. If the bracket has no custom list, Snapdown starts with the division’s weight classes. Add, remove, or reorder the list for this dual.
The list order is structural: Snapdown builds one bout per weight class in that order. Put the desired opening weight first. Changing or reordering the list after a dual is built marks the bracket out of date and requires another build.
Build the duals
Section titled “Build the duals”Select the bracket and choose Build. A dual tournament creates its parent team matchups and the individual weight-class bouts beneath each matchup.
Review:
- the teams in each dual;
- the number and order of weight classes;
- the Built or Out of date status; and
- any byes created by empty team slots.
Building creates the match structure. Match Publishing still controls bout numbers, assignment groups, and mat queues.
Set the lineups at the table
Section titled “Set the lineups at the table”Lineups are assigned from Table Scoring, after the dual has been published to a mat.
- Tap an individual dual bout to assign its wrestlers.
- Choose Edit Lineup on the dual header to fill every weight at once.
- Choose Auto in the lineup editor to use current event weight-class assignments when the roster is ready.
The lineup editor shows each weight, both team slots, and the wrestler’s current weight. It warns when a wrestler belongs to a different team, exceeds the class limit, is already assigned elsewhere in the lineup, or could not be matched automatically. Review those warnings before scoring.
Know when one mat is enough
Section titled “Know when one mat is enough”A Single Dual uses one mat and can stay on Automatic Match Scheduling. A three-team dual round robin also has only one dual in progress at a time, so it can use the same one-mat path. Assign the competition to its mat, preview the schedule, and publish it. Its weight-class bouts remain grouped under the dual in Table Scoring.
See Use automatic match scheduling across mats.
Know when the tournament needs several mats
Section titled “Know when the tournament needs several mats”A larger dual tournament can contain more than one team-versus-team match in the same round. Each simultaneous dual needs its own mat if the round is to move together. For example:
- a four-team round robin or elimination bracket suggests two mats;
- a five-team round robin suggests two mats;
- a six-team round robin suggests three mats; and
- an eight-team elimination or full-placement bracket can suggest four mats.
When a format needs more than one concurrent mat, Snapdown requires Customized Match Scheduling. This prevents an ordinary bracket-balancing rule from putting the whole dual tournament on one mat and serializing a round that was intended to run simultaneously.
Use Schedule dual brackets
Section titled “Use Schedule dual brackets”Open Match Publishing, accept the prompt to Customize, then choose Schedule dual brackets from Add Rule.
- Select each uncovered dual-tournament bracket you want to prepare. Completed tournaments, Single Duals, and brackets already covered by an active rule do not appear in this list.
- Review the dual count and the suggested number of mats. The suggestion is based on the number of duals that can occur in one round.
- Choose the planned mats for each bracket. Selecting fewer or more than the suggestion is allowed, but Snapdown warns because it changes how smoothly the rounds can advance.
- Avoid assigning the same mat to two tournament brackets unless they are intentionally sharing time. A later launch can bind that mat to the later schedule.
- Review the confirmation and choose Create Schedule. If a clean bracket has not been built yet, the action becomes Build & Create Schedule and safely builds its dual matches first.
The wizard creates one customized scheduling rule per selected tournament and places its parent dual matches into a round-major queue: all round-one duals, then all round-two duals, and so on. This is still a plan. No live mat queue is changed yet.
If a bracket is marked as built but has no schedulable matches, the wizard stops instead of silently rebuilding it. Repair or rebuild that bracket, then open Schedule dual brackets again.
Launch the dual tournament
Section titled “Launch the dual tournament”Find the new Duals - … rule in the scheduling table and choose Launch only
when all of its planned mats are ready.
The launch confirmation shows the number of parent duals and planned mats. It then binds those mats to the rule and deals the round-major queue across them, keeping one dual together on each mat. With the suggested mat count, the concurrent duals in a round can run together.
Launch does not delete matches or recorded results. If a planned mat still has unfinished work, Snapdown warns and appends the new duals after that work. For a clean handoff between sessions, wait until the mats are free.
To revise the plan, open the rule’s action menu and choose Change Planned Mats. Matches already loaded onto a mat stay there; removed mats stop pulling from the schedule, and you launch again when the revised mat group is ready.
See Create a custom tournament flow and finals schedule.
Score and finish
Section titled “Score and finish”Table Scoring shows the live team score above the individual bouts. Score each bout normally; Snapdown updates the dual score and completion progress from the results.
If remaining bouts will not be wrestled, use Close Out on the dual header. Review the proposed forfeits, double forfeits, or no-contest outcomes before confirming. A fully scored dual closes automatically.
