Run finals on featured mats
Many tournaments save the finals for the end, on a featured mat everyone can watch. Guided plan can pull the medal bouts you choose out of every queue and put each on its own mat.
Example: Finals on Mat 3 and Third-place on Mat 4, for every division in the plan.
Set it up
Section titled “Set it up”- On Match Publishing, choose Guided plan (or open Edit plan… on an existing one).
- Fill in Session and Queues as usual.
- On Stages, turn on Finals run separately.
- Under Medal bouts and their mats, pick Finals and set its mat to Mat 3. Pick Third-place and set its mat to Mat 4.
- Leave a bout on Choose when you run it if you’d rather decide on the day.
- Numbering and Review: check that each medal bout shows its mat, then choose Save plan.

Only the medal bouts you pick leave the queues. The rest, like Fifth-place, stay in their queue.
The plan’s numbering still covers the separate medal bouts: session 1 keeps ordinary numbers,
while session 2 adds 2-, session 3 adds 3-, and so on. If you choose Another rule already
numbers them, that other rule supplies their numbers and session prefix.
How the medal bouts are grouped
Section titled “How the medal bouts are grouped”- Medal bouts on the same mat share one rule. Finals and Third-place both on Mat 3 run as one list.
- Each medal bout left for run time gets its own rule, so you can place it separately.
- Medal bouts load in full: the whole finals list goes onto its mat together, instead of a few at a time.
Run the finals
Section titled “Run the finals”Running the plan numbers the medal bouts with everything else but leaves them off the mats. Finals wait for their own Run, so you decide when the finals session starts.
The plan’s Finals rule, named like Saturday — Finals, shows how close they are: its Ready step
reads “5 not ready yet” until the semifinals finish, then “17 ready”. When you’re ready, choose
Run… on that rule, check its mat on the Mats step, and load them.
A featured mat that’s also one of the queue’s mats keeps wrestling the queue until then. Loading the finals adds them behind what’s waiting, and the mat goes back to pulling from its queue once they’re done. Run won’t put finals that aren’t ready yet onto a mat that’s still running a queue: they’d hold its line while the semifinals that decide them still need a mat. Wait until they’re ready, or pick a free mat.
On a featured mat of its own (queues on Mats 1–4, finals on Mat 5), you can load them any time. Bouts still waiting on wrestlers sit in line until they’re known.
To split more than the medal bouts, such as semifinals on their own, use Custom rule. See Schedule a two-day tournament.
