Enter results from paper bout sheets

Not every mat needs a scoring table. If your mats keep score on paper, someone at the head table collects the bout sheets and types each result into Snapdown. A typed result saves the same way one from Table Scoring does: the winner advances, team points count, and the bracket updates for everyone watching.

On Tournament Progress, open the Matches tab and choose Enter Results. Snapdown asks for a bout number. Type the number from the sheet, press Enter, and that bout’s result dialog opens.

Save it and Snapdown asks for the next bout straight away, so a stack goes number, result, number, result. Choose Done when you run out of sheets.

A mistyped number just gets “There is no bout” and another try. A bout that already has a result won’t be overwritten. To change a saved result, use Edit on the bout’s card.

Pick the winner and type the final score. The score does most of the work: Snapdown picks whoever is ahead and suggests a decision, major, or tech fall from the margin. You can always choose something else, and forfeits, disqualifications, injury defaults, and overtime wins live under More results.

Decisions, majors, tech falls, and overtime wins need both scores, with the winner’s higher. A pin or a forfeit doesn’t need a score.

Volunteer scorers rarely write down a fall time. Most mark the period box the pin happened in, some also jot down what the clock showed, and plenty write nothing. The dialog asks for exactly that, and all of it is optional:

  • Pin in period (or Tech Fall in period): tap the box the scorer marked, like P2 or OT. Only the periods and overtime stages in that division’s match rules show up.
  • Clock showed: the time left on the clock, as the scorer wrote it. 0:15 works, and so do 15 or 115 typed on a number pad.

With both, Snapdown works out how far into the match the bout ended and shows it underneath so you can check it against the sheet. With two-minute periods, a pin in P2 with 0:15 left is 3:45 into the match, and the bracket shows “Fall 3:45”. A clock longer than the period gets flagged before it saves.

If the sheet doesn’t say, skip both. The bracket shows plain “Fall”, and the bout stays out of fastest-pin stats and the pin-time lines of the round-robin tiebreakers. Snapdown never fills in a guess, because a made-up 0:00 would rank as the fastest pin of the day.
