Pick the policy that fits your event: a standard cutoff, an earlier custom cutoff, or no purchaser refunds at all. Whichever you choose is shown at checkout and saved with each order. A 48-hour cutoff works well for most individual tournaments. Dual events often use the nonrefundable option.
Individual refunds
Refund a wrestler from your event’s Registrations page. If your payout hasn’t been sent yet, the refund just reduces your pending payout. The money never reached your bank account, so there is nothing to claw back.
Every order has three accounting components:
Tournament Registration Amount is your calculated registration proceeds, and the only refundable component.
Snapdown Platform Fee is Snapdown’s fee for each active registration entry, meaning one wrestler entered in one division.
Payment Processing Fee is the calculated card-processing component.
An eligible refund returns the remaining Tournament Registration Amount to the purchaser. The Snapdown Platform Fee and Payment Processing Fee are nonrefundable.
Cancelling an entire event
Cancelling refunds every confirmed order automatically, and each purchaser receives the remaining Tournament Registration Amount. System and Processing Fees stay nonrefundable, which keeps a cancelled event from saddling the organizer with hundreds of dollars in sunk transaction costs.
Disputes and chargebacks
Snapdown responds to the dispute, and may come to you for rosters, results, policies, or purchaser communications. The event ledger records each cost separately:
- disputed principal;
- the Stripe fee assessed when the dispute is received;
- any additional fee assessed when the dispute is countered;
- network or other actual costs; and
- any principal or fee credit actually returned.
Winning a dispute restores credited principal. It does not erase fees that Stripe or a network never returned. The net actual cost comes out of the event payout.
