Frequently Asked Questions
Does Snapdown run the tournament for us?
Your staff runs tournament day. Well ahead of the event, you can schedule an onboarding session where we walk through your format and setup. We also provision a free practice event and answer preparation questions as you work through it. Individual and team tournaments are purchased through self-serve checkout.
What tournament formats do you support?
4 to 64-person brackets, round robins, pigtails, pool-to-bracket, and dual meets. The formats wrestling events actually use.
How does bracket generation work?
Define weight classes and assign wrestlers, or let Snapdown create groups by weight. After check-in, set seeds where needed and generate brackets in a few steps.
What happens when a wrestler scratches?
Directors can adjust brackets quickly when no-shows or scratches happen. Update that part of the bracket and keep the event moving.
Can parents follow along remotely?
Yes. Basic access is included at your event, so families can find their wrestler, see the mat, how many matches until they go, the bracket, and the result, whether they are in the gym or at home. Live scoring as the match happens, push notifications, and advanced stats are a Snapdown PRO subscription at $5/mo that the parent buys.
What equipment do we need for scoring?
Snapdown does not require proprietary hardware. We recommend a Chromebook or laptop at each mat with an external monitor facing the crowd. A tablet can work when needed, but a laptop is usually easiest for table workers.
How much does it cost?
Individual tournaments are a $100 Event Activation Fee plus $1 per wrestler entry. Team tournaments are a $50 Event Activation Fee plus $15 per team-division entry, and wrestlers covered by a team entry are not billed again. Both are self-serve. The usage fee covers basic app access for every family, and Snapdown takes no percentage of your registration. Your purchase screen shows any custom organizer rate.
What counts as an entry?
One wrestler in one division. A kid entered in two divisions is two entries. Online, manual, imported, external-system, and walk-up entries all use the same $1 rate. Fees collected during Snapdown checkout are not charged again, and anything remaining is invoiced after the event on 14-day terms.
Do you have online registration, and does it cost extra?
Yes. Online registration is included at the published usage rate: $1 per wrestler entry for individual tournaments or $15 per team-division entry for team tournaments. The same rate applies to online, manual, imported, and walk-up units. Fees collected during Snapdown checkout are not charged again; remaining active units are invoiced after the event on 14-day terms. Online card payments include a Payment Processing Fee. The purchase screen shows the full total before payment.
